Cherkessk is the capital city of the Karachay-Cherkess Republic, Russia, as well as its political, economic, and cultural center.

The city is located on the right bank of the Kuban River. The river has 300 names.

Cherkessk is interesting for its history, nature and culture.

The sights of the city are Batalpashinsky lakes, 18 km from the city. This is a reserve of water for resort towns of the Caucasian Mineral Waters.

To the south of Cherkessk, near the city of Ust-Dzhegut, there are mounds of the Bronze Age, in which bronze jewelry and ceramics with carved ornaments were found.
